Somatotropin CAS 12629-01-5 Chemical Properties,Uses,Production
Application
Human growth hormone (GH) is a single-chain, non-glycosylated, hydrophilic globulin composed of 191 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 21,700 Da and an isoelectric point pI of 4.9. The cysteine residues at positions 53 and 165 and between 182 and 189 are connected by disulfide bonds; about 75% of the growth hormone secreted by eosinophils in the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland is secreted in the form of this molecular structure. 5% to 10% are secreted in the form of molecular weight 20kDa.
Secretion
Spontaneous secretion of hGH occurs in paroxysmal forms during the day and night, generally occurring in the first slow-wave sleep period (SWS) after physiological sleep. Resting during the day seems to promote the release of hGH. Food intake, fasting, exercise and stress can affect the secretion form of hGH, but do not change its basic rhythm. In adolescence, hGH secretion amplitude is high, frequency is fast, and the total amount of day and night secretion is large, while in the elderly The opposite is true.
Characteristic
Human growth hormone prohormone is composed of growth hormone naturally found in bacteria linked to a signal peptide. The prohormone splits in the inner cell wall of the bacteria and releases the final product, which is exactly the same as the natural growth hormone, into the intramembranous space. Then only the outer cell wall is destroyed for collection, while the inner cell wall remains intact to ensure that very few bacterial proteins contaminate the final product.
